Easy as 1-2-3: Successful PR Campaign for You and Me

Creating a successful PR campaign is a daunting task, one that has left many professionals frustrated. Good news for you is that I have tracked down the three essential tactics that will ensure you find success in your PR campaign.

Numero Uno: Think about the audiences! You would be surprised how many big name companies do not consider the public in which they wish to reach. The very first question you ask should be who has an interest or a stake in the activity? This could include customers, local media, the surrounding community, employees and their families, vendors/suppliers, agencies, etc.

 Once you know your target audience, the next step to become successful in your PR campaign is to decide what you want the audience to know and what you want to accomplish. This will be the ground foundation for everything you plan for the rest of the process.

Last but not least is tactic three: Have a game plan! The last step is what will set the framework for the campaign. Identify the steps the need to be taken in order to achieve the goal you just set, designate the budget allowed for the campaign, decide upon the appropriate phrasing for the campaign, and choose the tools/means to carry out your plan e.g. press releases, speeches, articles, commercials, flyers, billboards.

A successful PR campaign involves numerous activities. These three tactics will make the process as easy as counting 1-2-3.
